New Moon Ritual

Today marks the New Moon in Taurus and it is time to set our New Moon intentions, but before we do, we should look at what energy Taurus will bring for the next 29 days.

According to Astrostyle, Taurus, the Bull:

Ruled by the persistent and plodding Bull, Taurus energy has two speeds. It’s either relaxed and contented (like a steer luxuriating in a verdant pasture) or hyped-up and ready to charge. (Toro, Toro!) This zodiac sign has a built-in energy conservation program. It will patiently assess whether something is worth the investment of time and resources. Then if the green light flashes, its all systems go! Until then, slow and steady wins the Taurus race. This sign encourages us to break our work into simple steps then take daily action. Taurus is the sign of the builder, helping us create concrete results for our diligent efforts. Under the influence of a Taurus planetary transit, we roll up our sleeves and get the job done. The positive essence of Taurus energy shows up as patient, organized, supportive, romantic, careful, and dedicated. On the flipside, Taurus energy can also be overindulgent, stubborn, lazy, vain, tightfisted and too cautious. Routine-loving Taurus can get us stuck in our comfort zones and habits. Make sure that consistency doesn’t turn into stagnation or inertia.

New Moons are time for New Beginnings when the spark that lights the fire is lit. They are a time for us to tell the Universe what we would like to manifest in our lives. (Since Taurus rules financial stability, now is a perfect time to manifest abundance in our lives!) Here is a simple New Moon ritual you can use today, or any New Moon, to help manifest what is needed in your life! A local crystal shop in Milwaukee that has now closed, Your Sacred Journey, shared this exercise.

Sheet of Lined yellow paper for New Moon Ritual

New Moon Ritual

At the start of each New Moon, find a yellow piece of paper. On this piece of paper make a list of ten different intentions you would like to manifest before the next Full Moon in 14 days or you can think in longer terms, such as the next year. Remember to be specific and clear when you make this list. If you don’t know what you want, how will you ever get it? We are putting our intentions in writing to ensure we take the time to think about what it is exactly we would like our lives to look like. When we know specifically and can visualize what we would like to attract, then we can ask the Universe for guidance or assistance in obtaining it and send out our own energy to attract it. Too often, we know we are stuck or don’t like where we are in life. However, just saying we want a better life isn’t enough. We have to know what specifically we need to rid ourselves and obtain on an emotional, physical and spiritual level. Knowing precisely what we need is our gateway into creating the life we desire. The list of ten can include things you would like to see come to fruition before the next Full Moon in 14 days, such as start a daily meditation habit, manifest a beautiful crystal or they can be lofty intentions that may take a year or more to come full circle. It is your list and can be used to set short-term goals, long-term goals or a mix of the two. If your list is more or less than ten that is perfectly fine too! There isn’t a rigid rule saying

After you have compiled your list of New Moon intentions take your sheet of paper and fold it in half. Place the paper somewhere safe such as on your altar or dresser. Just be sure to put it some place where you can see it periodically in order to remind yourself to stay focused and on track to achieve them. If you have a Quartz crystal, place it on top of your folded piece of paper to help amplify your words and the energy behind them. Take a few seconds to express gratitude towards yourself and the Universe. Program your Quartz crystal to help you manifest your items. Over the next 14 days peak at your list from time to time and remind yourself why you wrote those specific items down. You can check items off the list as your receive them if you would like. Personally, I like to reflect back on all my New Moon lists periodically to see what I have manifested, areas where I have progressed or regressed and to see whether or not my goals have changed. Often times, I realize what I thought I needed, wasn’t really needed after all. I like to reflect back on why I wrote down an intention in the first place and where my head or my life was at the time. Seeing your dream life unfold is a beautiful thing, but realizing you have the power to create that life, is even more beautiful!

New Moon Blessings to all of you!
